QUEZON CITY — To celebrate National Teachers’ Month, IBBY Philippines collaborated with Brilliant Creations Publishing’s imprint, Brille Petit, to host a special Read With Us session.
Held on Saturday, October 17 at the SM Book Nook in SM City North EDSA, the event brought together children from Barangay Bahay Toro and Barangay San Antonio for an afternoon of creative learning. The activities kicked off with an engaging storytelling session featuring Panjee Galarpe, who read A Boy from Mojon, and Chris Viuda, who read Ang Boom at Palakpak ni Viktor.
Sparked by the inspiring stories about dreams and friendship, the children participated in a mini art workshop where they drew and colored their future career aspirations.
To wrap up the event, IBBY Philippines and Brilliant Creations Publishing Inc. provided afternoon snacks and books to take home, encouraging continuous reading beyond the event.
Read with Us is a community-based reading program led by IBBY Philippines to promote a love of reading among children, in partnership with SM Book Nook, SM Cares, and UNESCO National Commission of the Philippines. This participation of Brilliant Creations highlights the importance of collaboration in advancing child literacy in the Philippines, ringing true to the company’s tagline, “We live to educate.”
